Job Description:

The Bellarmine University art department is seeking a part-time instructor to teach our capstone professional practices course. The class prepares students for their senior exhibit and for careers in the visual arts. Topics include career readiness, portfolio preparation, exhibit planning and prepping artwork, developing artists' statements, submitting work to galleries and/or calls for entry, and related course content. The instructor will introduce students to professionals in the community, help them create portfolio websites, and assist in program assessment. Ideal candidates will have the ability to teach studio courses as well.

Fall semester runs from August 24th 2023 through the end of the grading period on December 14th. The class meets 5:00-7:45 on Wednesday evenings.


Requirements:

Candidates must have an MFA in fine arts or a closely related field. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record of excellent teaching at the college level as well as a robust professional practice including exhibitions and/or other scholarly endeavors in the visual arts.
