Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati Medical Laboratory Science Program is searching for adjunct faculty member to develop and teach the Clinical Chemistry and Advanced Clinical Chemistry courses for Summer Semester 2022.  Development for the courses will occur in Spring Semester 2022.  In addition, this adjunct may also facilitate in MLS courses in terms in which the Clinical Chemistry courses are not running. 

Essential Functions

Responsibilities include developing course material which includes lectures, assignments, and tests for an assigned MLS subject.  Responsibilities also include leading a cohort of MLS students through course material, grading assignments, monitoring student participation, participation in weekly conference calls and office hours, adherence to program and college policies and procedures, and maintaining communication with MLS program faculty, staff, and students.  Courses to facilitate vary by semester but may include:

  • Hematology
  • Hemostasis
  • Immunohematology
  • Statistics
  • Clinical Microbiology
  • Clinical Chemistry
  • Microbiology
  • Molecular Diagnostics
  • Laboratory Operations (Management)

Minimum Requirements
  • MLS Certification (ASCP)
  • Master’s degree 
  • Teaching experience is required
  • Candidates should also have basic computer and internet literacy and be comfortable working through minor trouble-shooting issues alone or with the help of technology support staff. 

Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Preferred candidates will have three or more years of clinical laboratory experience. 
  • Online teaching experience is preferred.
