The Integrated Engineering (IntE) Department at the University of San Diego is looking to hire one adjunct instructor in the Fall 2024 semester to teach a water remediation course.

Our Water Treatment and Remediation course (GENG384) serves as an introduction to the fundamentals of the physical and chemical processes required for the treatment of water and wastewater. This course focuses on methods pertinent to the various unit processes required to purify ground and surface water and to remove unwanted contaminants from wastewater. Throughout this course, students will use critical thinking skills to analyze water quality issues and water sustainability, particularly at the local and global level. Course meeting time is dependent on instructor’s availability. The course can either meet 3x/week (MWF for 55 minutes/session) or 2x/week (MW or TTh for 80 minutes/session).

This course is to be taught fully in person with no remote option for either students or instructor. The first day of class is Wednesday, September 4, and the last day is Friday, December 13, with final exams scheduled from December 16-20.

Instructor responsibilities include: lecture preparation (we have some course materials to share), conducting lecture, grading student work, and holding 1.5 hours of office hours each week.
