Adjunct Faculty, Industrial and Systems Engineering

The Industrial and Systems Engineering Department is looking to hire one adjunct instructor in the Spring 2024 semester to teach one section of Sustainability and Engineering lecture class (ISYE 380). The adjunct instructor can use existing course content and assignments. More information about the course is below:

  • This section of ISYE 380 has a mix of industrial and systems engineering majors (juniors) and other engineering majors (juniors and seniors).
  • Class meets on campus on T/Th 9:15 to 10:35 am, from January 29th to May 13th with a 2-hour final exam scheduled between May 19th to 25th by the university.
  • Course description: The course provides an interdisciplinary overview of the engineering roles and opportunities to improve the sustainability of engineering products, processes and systems. Topics include carbon footprint, life cycle assessment, design for sustainability, wastes and recycling, energy and water.
  • Instructor's responsibilities include: lecture preparation (instructional materials are available to share), grading of student works, holding 1.5 hours of office hours each week, providing a written course assessment and submitting student work assessment at the end of the semester for ABET purposes.
