The Department of Anthropology (https://www.hofstra.edu/anthropology/) of Hofstra University invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach Cultural Anthropology courses on a semester-by-semester basis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Cultural Anthropology and Gender and Sexuality
  • Typically teach one to two courses per semester.

  • Master's degree required
  • Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusive in an educational environment.

Preferred Quals Summary


  • Experience teaching introductory Cultural Anthropology and Gender and Sexuality
  • Demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.

Salary/Salary Range $1,422-$1,669 per credit

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
