Adjunct, Applied Public Administration and Leadership (APAL)

The Applied Administration Program at the University of Houston-Downtown seeks qualified adjunct instructors to teach in the online Applied Public Administration and Leadership concentration for the following discipline areas in public administration:  cultural competence; administrative law & bureaucracy; negotiation & union relations; crisis communication; community relationships; resource allocation & logistics; grant development & administration; data analysis, assessment & evaluation; leadership; management in non-profit; information technology; and strategic planning.  The candidate must plan and create course syllabi; provide quality instruction and guidance in an online environment; follow institutional guidelines; evaluate student performance; maintain a positive educational environment in the online classroom, etc.

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree.  At least 18 hours of graduate course work in the particular discipline area is preferred.  Demonstrated government or non-profit professional experience in the particular discipline area may also be considered.  Experience teaching online courses is preferred.
