The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is seeking a skilled technician to manage, operate, and maintain metal additive manufacturing (AM) and machining equipment across multiple metal AM labs (UDRI main campus and Dayton Composites Center). Work will include operation and advancement of both commercial EOS and Concept Laser systems as well as custom open architecture LPBF machines and all supporting equipment. The technician will work with lab managers and scientists to prepare parts for printing/manufacturing via CAD/CAM and operate equipment in accordance with research objectives. The ability to make machine modifications and troubleshoot one-of-a-kind systems is highly important. The overarching goals of these labs are to better understand the effects of laser manufacturing processes on materials, and to design, build, and operate next generation AM machines. |
