Description of Work Unit
The Temple Grandin Equine Center (TGEC) is located in the Department of Animal Sciences. The Department of Animal Sciences has the unique mission of serving Colorado’s large and diverse livestock industries. Research, teaching, and extension outreach activities in the Department of Animal Sciences focus on developing industry leaders and improving profitable production of horses and food animals through the application of science and technology, resource management and food product enhancement, with emphasis on addressing societal issues concerning food safety, product quality and value, animal care and management, and environmental impacts of animal agriculture.

Position Summary
The Temple Grandin Equine Center is seeking an individual to work as an Adaptive Horsemanship Instructor at TGEC in Fort Collins, CO at the Foothills Campus. They will teach adaptive horsemanship lessons, individual and group, and will work with all staff, other providers, and volunteers in accordance with facility policies, which include PATH Int’l standards. 
Position Minimum Qualifications
Current certification as PATH Intl Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI);
experience working with volunteers in an equine environment; and
experience educating others about equine-assisted services.
Preferred Qualifications
PATH Int’l. ESMH Certification.
Experience training and mentoring PATH intl, CTRI Instructors-in-Training and
History of providing equine-assisted services and acting as an equine specialist
