SUMMARY:

The Department of Engineering & Technology at Texas A&M University-Commerce is seeking applicants for a non-tenure tract temporary Ad-Interim Assistant Professor position to teach courses within the Construction Engineering program.  The position will begin September 2022. The duration of this appointment is up to one (1) year.  Faculty at Texas A & M University-Commerce are required to conduct scholarly activities, work cooperatively with others, and contribute service to their discipline, the university, and the community.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach undergraduate courses including but not limited to Construction Planning and Scheduling; Construction Accounting and Financial Management; Sustainability; Computer Aided Design; Engineering Management
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate students
  • Actively engage and work cooperatively with faculty within the Department of Engineering & Technology
  • Serve on selected departmental, college, and university committees

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education :An earned doctorate from an ABET accredited U.S. institution of higher learning with a major field of study in construction engineering, construction management, or a closely related discipline with an emphasis on construction management (ABD will be considered)
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals. Commitment to high quality teaching. Dedication to high standards and student success. Scholarly publication record or scholarly potential.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior relevant industry experience
  • Evidence of teaching excellence in higher education
  • A record of scholarship; publications, presentations, and grant proposals
  • Experience with online course development and instruction
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of ABET accreditation
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations
