Accounts Receivable Analyst

Position Description

Cold Spring Harbor Lab is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Analyst to join our dynamic Finance and Accounting team. The Analyst reports directly to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and is a crucial member of the team, responsible for the accurate and timely analysis and processing of account receivables. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and have a sound understanding of accounting basics. The Analyst has exposure to several different types of accounting activities and is willing to learn and grow with the team. The ideal candidate will be one who embraces continuous improvement, uses technology to perform tasks, and works collaboratively in a team environment.


Position Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular reconciliations of financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Assist accounts receivable department with invoicing, receipt processing and account reconciliation
  • Assist with implementation and testing of new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Assist in implementing new credit card expense monitoring system and credit card program administration
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather relevant financial information for reporting purposes.
  • Assist in developing new processes to easily identify Laboratory receipts for easier application.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors during financial audits.
  • Assist in special projects and ad hoc analysis as required.
  • General office administrative duties including distributing departmental mail, banking deposits, supply ordering, etc.


Position Requirements

EDUCATION: 

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business or a related field
EXPERIENCE: 
  • Minimum 2 years’ accounting office experience
  • Well organized, with attention to detail, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
    • Strong knowledge of processing transactions in financial systems.
    • Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
    • Analytical and financial reporting skills.
    • A strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
    • Strong oral/written communication skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage large volumes of work.
      • Self-motivated and outcome-oriented. Well organized, with attention to detail, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $55,000 – $65,000.   The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
