What You Will Do
The Controller Division delivers accounting services in support of the Laboratory’s mission. Our accounting services focus includes the following:
Perform work in the Accounting and Administrative Fields
Providing quality business processes and systems throughout the Laboratory
Partnering with the programs and technical divisions to strengthen our business capabilities
Providing stewardship of Laboratory, NNSA and sponsor resources
Building alliances with NNSA, DOE, LASO, and the ABQ Service Center
Maintain a safe and secure working environment
Work as a team member with direction from your mentor
Features of the Program:
The Post-Baccalaureate category offers college graduates the opportunity to participate in the Internship Student program after graduation.
This category applies to those interns who have been awarded a bachelor's degree in Accounting within the past three years but have not yet been accepted and enrolled in a graduate program. Post-baccalaureate interns may remain in this category for up to two years
Interns should use this appointment to prepare for graduate school acceptance (e.g., GRE/GMAT exams, applications, etc.). An intern may move into GRA status when documentation is provided indicating the intern's intention to accept an offer of admission to a graduate program.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent
Must have received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting within the last three years
Must not be accepted and enrolled in a graduate program (recently enrolled graduate students should explore employment opportunities within the Laboratory’s Graduate Internship Program
Desired Qualifications:
Experience and/or education in the field of business
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Education Required:
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accountancy or related discipline within the past three years
Location: This position will be in the Telework Pilot

Where You Will Work Located in northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. Directive 206.2-Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the required period of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader.
