Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Accounting/Financial Systems

  • Originates, calculates, processes, and maintains physician insurance coverage premiums and schedules for WUSM/WUPI insureds. Works with the Office of Finance and Accounting and the Actuary in calculating department premiums. Coordinates professional liability monthly department journals, along with assistance of the Financial Reporting Office. Calculates and provides Clinical Department Premium adjustments.
  • Initiates/reviews for approval all purchasing transactions eligible for blanket order processing. Processes and tracks all invoices related to blanket orders, maintaining a spreadsheet of activity and balances through finance system. Compiles financial summaries, underwriting activity reports, draft of professional liability excess application, and all other administrative reports. Timely and accurately submits loss runs (incidents reported) to the excess insurance carrier and actuary quarterly, or as requested.  Submits quarterly, the Aggregate Impairment Report to the Director and Office of General Counsel.
  • Advises on accounting and insurance coverage compliance issues and resolve, prior to processing. Annual audit preparation, which includes the excess carrier auditor Clark-Hill and Internal Audit-- SOX.
  • Reviews reimbursement requests for appropriate university funding allocation & budget coding. Enters requisitions into the purchasing system and monitor purchasing processes as requested budget. Provides reconciliation support for annual budget process.  Monitors account balances, maintains open encumbrances, processes journals and budgets adjustments. Assists Director with preparation and monitoring of budget for administrative expenses and prepare adjustments to the budget. Quarterly expense reports for the OGC.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports from WUNDER, and distributes as directed. 
  • Creates reports as needed for Director and/or Clinical Department/Divisions using Crystal Report Writing for accessing data in WUNDER.
  • Assists and provides back-up support as requested.
  • Maintains PC equipment inventory and refresh schedule.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

High school diploma and two years of experience.

Salary Range
$20.76 - $32.21 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
