Job Summary

 

As a Business Assistant/Account Clerk in the College of Health & Human Sciences, this position will collaborative with departmental faculty, staff, students, and other business units or areas to perform various business functions that support the mission of the organizational unit. This position will serve as a resource liaison for the unit with the college administration office and central offices. This position will also have significant responsibilities with account management, financial reporting, SPS grant management, and effort reporting.  Position location is REMOTE. Primary areas of responsibility are with the Department of Nutrition Science and Health & Kinesiology. Primary areas of responsibility and office assignment are subject to change to best meet the needs of the College of Health & Human Sciences. 


 

***This position will be part-time .50 FTE at 20 hours a week***

 

 

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • 3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping and/or purchasing or similar area   
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, file management and records, forms and other office procedures and terminology
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism in dealing with students, individuals and business customers
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multi task, work under pressure, handle interruptions and meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze information and implement solutions
  • Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility and handling confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment
  • Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology
  • Proficiency in software experience: Microsoft Word, Excel, Database and Outlook/Electronic Email

 

 

Preferred: 

  • University-related experience
