Accommodations Coordinator for Assistive Technology
Disability Services
Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary
The Accommodations Coordinator assists students with registered disabilities by coordinating accommodative services, such as real-time captioning, sign language interpreting, assistive technology, note-taking assistance, and alternative format texts. This position provides a high level of customer service to students and faculty around the accommodations process. As a member of the Goldman Center for Student Accessibility, this position receives a high level of cross-training and assists with overall accommodations coordination.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Acute attention to detail.
• Competency in using Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access).
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively with administrators, faculty, staff, parents, and students.
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year of student customer service experience.
OR
• High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 7 years of student customer services experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in a human service field.
• Knowledge of vocational, psychological, academic, and physical impact of various disabilities.
• Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and other relevant legal decisions.
• Knowledge of assistive technology.
Compensation Information
This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 23.
