WHAT WILL YOU DO:

This position provides technical expertise and support for assigned information systems.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Under the general direction of the Analyst Programmer Manager, acts as campus-wide field technical support for assigned access control systems to include, CBORD, Transact and S2. 
  • Acts as secondary field technical support for PantherCard System, Point of Sale Systems, parking and other Auxiliary and Support Services administrative systems.
  • Visits various access control devices as needed to troubleshoot and effect repair or replacement as needed.
  • Works with the Analyst Programmer Intermediate, Analyst Programmer, Manager and vendor representatives in coordinating system and equipment support, maintenance, and repair services with external vendors.
  • Provide technical support for other campus card system components as needed, such as point-of-sale terminals, ID production workstations, various card readers or scanners.
  • Liaison with campus customers both internal and external via email or phone to provide updates as needed on projects/repairs.

 

Note: This position will work largely at the Downtown campus, although occasional travel to any one of the Perimeter campuses may be required.

Qualifications

: 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Technical degree and two years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Valid GA driver's license required.
  • Three years of experience with commercial and institutional access control systems, including CBORD, S2 and Transact.
  • Experience working in higher education setting.
  • Experience with the installation, maintenance, diagnostics and repair of mechanical electronic locking systems.

Additional Preferred Requirements:

  • Dedication to providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work with a broad spectrum of individuals required.
  • High mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose problems and make appropriate repairs.
  • Familiarity with electrical, network testing tools including voltmeter, cable mapper, etc.
  • Strong multi-tasking ability.
  • Ability to work in variety of environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to routinely walk to and from various buildings carrying tools, equipment and other essentials to the job site.
  • Must be able to work alone and climb multiple sets of stairs, work off ladders, etc.
  • Must be able to work overtime, as needed.
