Position Description Summary:
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, an independent non-profit faculty clinical practice group affiliated with the George Washington University, is seeking academic surgical pathologists to join the faculty in the Department of Pathology. We are growing our clinical services, genomic molecular pathology, digital and computational pathology, and innovative research programs. Our growing medical center, with a state-of-the-art hospital and expanding Cancer Center, is located on a vibrant campus in the heart of the nation’s capital.
We are also considering applicants with surgical pathology training and certification in molecular genetic pathology or expertise in digital and computational pathology. Applicants with strong research backgrounds who may establish principal investigator-led research may be considered for appropriate research support and laboratory space.
These non-tenure track faculty appointments will be made at ranks (Instructor/Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) and salary commensurate with experience.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include providing clinical service in surgical pathology subspecialties including breast, GYN, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, renal, thoracic, lung pathology, and cytopathology; teaching residents, fellows, and medical students and maintaining an active research program as independent investigators or in collaboration with surgeons, oncologists, and other clinicians and basic investigators.
Minimum Qualifications:
MD, MD/PhD, PhD or equivalent; board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the time of appointment; eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia; and fellowship training and/or experience in general surgical pathology and/or a subspecialty area of surgical pathology or cytopathology.
