Salary Range

$44,000 - $48,000 per year DOE


Essential Duties

  • Provide individual and group academic advising to online and campus-based undergraduate and graduate students that supports academic success, engagement as a Manufacturing Systems and Networks student, and timely progress to graduation
  • Support students to resolve challenges by having current knowledge and making appropriate referrals to ASU services including, but not limited to, Student Health, ASU Counseling Services and the Fulton Career Center
  • Provide administrative support related to student enrollment, registration, orientation, retention and degree completion while maintaining comprehensive and accurate student records using a variety of software and data sources
  • Organize and participate in ASU and FSE initiatives and efforts aimed at recruiting, engaging and retaining Manufacturing Systems and Networks students
  • Consult with program chairs, faculty, colleagues and students to support Manufacturing Systems and Networks students to proceed efficiently through their curriculum and navigate setbacks

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree AND one (1) year or more previous experience in one or more of the following: advising, student recruitment/retention or related student services utilizing a proactive and innovative approach which results in demonstrated outcomes in retention, graduation, and academic planning; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Evidence of a Master’s degree (in a related area appropriate to this position)
  • Evidence of academic advising experience in a higher educational context
  • Knowledge of student recruitment and retention approaches
  • Evidence of effective communication skills
  • Experience in developing action plans to meet goals, establishing milestones and timetables.  
  • Experience in demonstrating sensitivity to needs of a diverse student population.  
  • Demonstrated use of the essential functions of critical student service systems such as PeopleSoft, DARS, Salesforce, Advisor Portal, Microsoft Office suite, and other tools as introduced

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
