The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) is an independent research organization at the University of Washington. About Health Metrics Sciences
The Department of Health Metrics Sciences (HMS) is an interdisciplinary research department that integrates the fields of biostatistics, epidemiology, and other disciplines. HMS offers a unique approach to population health by focusing on the comprehensive analysis of health issues and their drivers worldwide. Beyond academic research, we aim to influence health policy, catalyze change in health practices, and disseminate essential information to ameliorate health outcomes across the globe. HMS is dedicated to fostering the development of the next generation of scientists and leaders in health metrics through faculty mentorship, access to exceptional data and resources, and networking opportunities.

About the Role
The Department of Health Metrics Sciences is seeking a dedicated Academic Programs Manager to join the administrative team. Founded in 2018, the department is at the forefront of training the next generation of data scientists to integrate health metrics with global health solutions. In this role, strong project management skills will be pivotal in facilitating smooth operations, fostering student success, and contributing to the department's mission of advancing health metrics science. This role reports to the Director of Academic Programs. 

This position is contingent on project funding availability and has currently secured funding through at least the end of June 2026.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic program operations
The Program Manager in HMS is pivotal in overseeing the operations of our academic programs. This role involves orchestrating activities, strategic planning, and event management, all aimed at enriching the education of our students. The Program Manager works closely with the Director of Academic Programs and others on the HMS administrative team and collaborates with partner programs and institutions at the university, including the Department of Global Health and IHME.
