ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Office of Academic and Student Affairs is the central location for all undergraduate and graduate administrative academic functions in the College. This office encompasses student recruitment, student pre-admission advisement, the admission process, monitoring of student progress and probationary status, domestic and international field experiences, certification of students for graduation, maintains all student records and college academic files, develops all college and university academic data reports, develops implements, and evaluates college-wide academic policies, develops national accreditation reports, and operates the college-wide undergraduate program. The Office of Academic and Student Affairs is led by the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent will report to the Assistant Director of the Office of Doctoral Training in Academic and Student Affairs at the College of Public Health. The primary responsibilities of the position are to provide professional and administrative support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting Academic and Student Affairs with organization and management of processes, data and reports, and communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports Academic and Student Affairs organization and administration through processing course permits and academic forms, maintaining student files and records, tracking and follow-up through processes, completing human resources forms, and fulfillment of other student-related administrative requirements. Examples include tracking doctoral projects, student outreach based on data, assigning student attributes, and regular use of BDMS.
Supports Academic and Student Affairs data and report management through survey/data follow-up calls/contacts, review of Guidebook and websites for accuracy and currency, syllabi-compliance review, and running regular reports. Examples include follow-up calls to increase survey response, running weekly admissions reports, and CPH exam entry with tracking..
Supports Academic and Student Affairs communication through posting announcements, covering shared phones and email boxes, maintaining the master calendar, advertising scholarships, monitoring the recruitment contact list, and creating informational materials.
Supports the doctoral recruitment and admissions process through preparation of correspondence and mailings to applicants and prospects and assist with SOPHAS administration.
Supports Academic and Student Affairs events and programming.
Performs other duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with four years of experience in office or administrative positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
PREFERRED:
A Bachelor's degree with experience working with Banner and Microsoft Office Products (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Experience in an academic environment is preferred for this position.
