Summary

The Rackham Graduate School seeks an Academic Program Manager to serve as a member of the Professional Development and Engagement team. The Academic Program Manager will work with and report to the Senior Academic Program Manager for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate to create, coordinate, and manage programs that support Rackham's diverse populations.  This position will work with several affinity groups, and support the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate Program (DEICP) with a large emphasis on leading the Intercultural Development Inventory aspect of the DEI Certificate.  The affinity groups this position will support will be LGBTQIA+ students, students with children/caregiver responsibilities, students with disabilities, and student veterans.

Responsibilities*

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: 


Programming and Student support

Coordinate and facilitate workshops for affinity groups and the DEICP program. Conduct needs assessment for students that address the needs of different affinity groups, maintain affinity based listservs for students,  connect students with opportunities and workshops hosted by other campus units that support affinity groups and, maintain statistics and data on programming needs, and conduct program evaluation. Review affinity-based orientation resources for accuracy and relevancy and make changes when appropriate.  Identify, and recruit.


Program Data Management and Administration 

In conjunction with the Senior Program Manager for DEI, manage the DEICP Dashboard and Canvas site, and assist student employees with training, questions, and tasks in both spaces. Compile, update, track, and analyze program evaluation and participant data, and assist with drafting of reports as needed. Communicate with the Rackham ITS team and/or Communications team about needed updates and edits to the DEICP programs participant dashboard and Rackham webpages for DEICP, affinity groups. Assist with the collection and analysis of program data.  Conduct focus groups and lead data collection efforts related to other graduate student affinity groups. 

Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) for DEICP Program Evaluation 

Oversee and independently manage the IDI enterprise account. Lead the Rackham Qualified Administrators (QA) learning community (approx. 10 staff members), including planning monthly meetings and managing QA capacity. Organize and manage the QA calendar. Facilitate sharing of participants IDI reports between QAs to assist with individual IDI coaching consultations. Conduct individual IDI coaching consultations with DEICP participants. Onboard, offboard, recruit, and retain Rackham QAs as needed. Track and send IDI pre and post surveys to DEICP participants. Manage and organize all pre and post IDI test data for program evaluation.  Maintain accurate record of all DEICP participants progress toward fulfilling all IDI related program requirements. 

Outreach and Partnerships 

Liaison with Spectrum Center, Veterans Resources Center, CEW+, and Services for Students with Disabilities, Rackham's Sponsored Student Organizations (SSO)s and other established campus partners. Assist the Senior Academic Program Manager in finalizing and scheduling each terms DEICP workshop offerings. Sit on the following committees: Veterans Week 


Required Qualifications*

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years experience in higher education education or equivalent  combination of education and experience..Experience with coordinating workshops. Experience in facilitating in-person and virtual workshops/presentations to diverse  audiences. Demonstrated background knowledge of and commitment to diversity, equity, and  inclusion. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. An understanding of or experience with issues in graduate education, student  development, and DEI in higher education. An understanding of the challenges faced by underrepresented and marginalized  populations in higher education. Excellent and strong organizational skills, attention to detail, prioritization, and  follow-through. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to build rapport and engage others (particularly in high-stress or challenging circumstances) and foster inclusive, strong, and collaborative working  relationships across a diverse spectrum. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work and communicate effectively, harmoniously, and professionally with the University community as  well as external community partners. Ability to work collaboratively and independently, as the task requires. Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, independent judgment and  engage people with diplomacy and tact under stressful situations and in matters of  a sensitive and confidential nature.


Desired Qualifications*

Advanced Degree (e.g. Ph.D., J.D., MBA, Master's, etc.). Advanced Degree (e.g. Ph.D., J.D., MBA, Master's, etc.). Experience with program evaluation, data analysis, and assessment. Experience in designing asynchronous modules on platforms such as Canvas,  Thinkific etc. Experience or familiarity with the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI). Familiarity and experience with DEI student programming in a higher education  context.  Experience utilizing technology to deliver programs and services virtually.
