Department Summary
The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (UNTHSC) Department of Physical Therapy is housed within the School of Health Professions which includes a Physician Assistant Studies Program and an online Master of Science in Lifestyle Medicine With Health and Wellness Coaching. UNTHSC is dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, research, and community service. The Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a staff member who would like to create solutions for a healthier community by assisting faculty in producing highly qualified entry-level Physical Therapists, and leaders in education, professional services, and research activities.
Position Overview
The Physical Therapy Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire an Academic Program Coordinator to join our team. The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of duties to support faculty and students within the program. The Academic Program Coordinator will be a key team member who will maintain departmental and classroom schedules, coordinate multiple departmental administrative tasks and support the on-going needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
* Four years of upper level administrative support experience.
* Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook and EIS.
* Knowledge of UNTHSC academic programs and departments.
* Previous experience with purchasing, travel and recording meeting minutes.
* High level task management abilities.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
* Ability to focus and concentrate in a busy environment.
* Ability to set priorities and complete multiple tasks by deadlines.
* Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
* Outstanding organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multitask, remain flexible and maintain effective communications.
*Ability to work collaboratively and building strategic relations with colleagues, coworkers, constituents and volunteers.

Job Duties


o
Supports the Director of Academic Education and Department Chair with accreditation reports, scheduling of meetings, providing agendas and minutes, developing reports relevant to the program, implementation of policies or procedures, and catering needs of the department.
o
Organizes, maintains, and updates the departmental schedule based on department events, faculty, and university calendar.
o
Prepares invoices, flyers, reports, memos, letters, and other documents with use of  word processing, spreadsheet, database, adobe, or presentation software.
o
Ability to effectively market the programs and services of the department by helping coordinate  continuing education courses, service opportunities, or any event conducted by the program or university.
o
Maintains a systematic filing system by organizing paper or electronic filing systems, program record information, updates made to paperwork, website, and any documents with student information, such as attendance records, correspondence, or other material
o
Ability to identify goals, objectives, problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
o
Provide support and actively engage with students, faculty, and staff by communicating information related to the program and university.
o
Ability to collaboratively work and maintain a good rapport with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.
o
Ability to engage students and to create and enhance their connection to the institution and each other.
o
Performs other duties as assigned
