Candidates are sought for appointment as an Academic Professional in GSU’s Department of Computer Science to assist with managing the Department’s teaching laboratories and projects. Further, the successful candidate will support the design, implementation, and management of an undergraduate program in Information Technology. This position will report to the Department Chair and will contribute to different internal and outreach strategic initiatives of the Department, including the support of Senior Design Projects; development of stakeholder and company relationships to facilitate the Department’s vision; coordination of activities of the Department’s Industrial Advisory Board (IAB); serving as project manager for diverse departmental initiatives; and limited teaching of appropriate courses. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Applicants should have experience in teaching or mentorship and be able to manage the department’s teaching laboratories. Successful candidates will help oversee curricular laboratory offerings, facilitate interdisciplinary partnerships, and assist in activities to develop an industry-relevant curriculum. The Academic Professional appointment is in a 12-month non-tenure track position with limited teaching responsibilities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to advance in this position through promotion to higher ranks.
