Position Summary
Responsible for program management of a collaborative learning program that supplements large lecture courses and aids students in transitioning to college level learning. Support, mentor and train students to develop course-relevant problem solving skills.


Job Description

This position requires the ability to move to on and off-campus locations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administer and develop Peer Lead Team Learning PLTL programs. Oversee the recruitment process for peer leaders. Train and mentor students designated as peer leaders, providing instruction and materials. Formally evaluate and provide feedback to peer leaders.
  • Update content and format of PLTL applications as necessary. Process program applications, coordinate room assignments and leader availability, and assign students to learning groups. Coordinate with other PLTL administering departments to minimize schedule conflicts.
  • Teach and/or co-teach assigned training seminar for course credit. Expected to be 1 or 2 credit courses per semester.
  • Coordinate undergraduate learning assessments and program analyses. Evaluate results to analyze impact and further develop programs as needed.
  • Create surveys, course materials, letters of reference; proof-read exams, quizzes. Print and distribute packets, post files for leaders and students.
  • May assist with educational development activities and/or education related research projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in relevant field.
  • Two years of teaching experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and pedagogy in the relevant field. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn innovative teaching techniques and philosophies.
  • Good management and supervisory skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.).


Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in relevant field and one year of related experience.

Salary Range
Base pay is commensurate with experience.

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
