The Department of Anthropology in the College of Arts and Sciences has an outstanding opportunity for an Academic Counselor. This role serves as the primary administrative link for students to the Department, College, and the University by coordinating practices, policies and programs that help guide and support student learning.

The Academic Counselor is responsible for interfacing with approximately 500 undergraduate majors by responding to emails, interacting with a diverse student body, and engaging with staff and faculty to discuss academic affairs. They will use individual judgment to make decisions regarding student academic progress and providing information to and connecting students with University resources to support their personal and academic endeavors. The Academic Counselor will advise students in the areas of academic planning, interpretation of department, college, and university requirements, degree requirements, career exploration, and other related matters. In addition to academic and career resources, the Academic Counselor will help connect students with campus health and wellness resources.

This position will report to the Academic Services Director.
