About the Departments:

The Department of Computer Science has three full-time faculty and one full-time academic advisor. This position will be a second academic advisor to accommodate the rapid enrollment growth that has taken majors from 57 in 2015 to approximately 700 this academic year. This growing department is slated to hire three new faculty over the next three years as they also roll out a new M.S. in Computer Science.

The Agricultural Business program in the Department of Agriculture currently enrolls nearly 250 majors with approximately half of those online. It is the only program within the department to be available entirely online, so it also has great potential for growth. The department employees nine full-time faculty with three having expertise in Agricultural Business and/or Agricultural Economics.

About the College:

The Werth College of Science, Technology and Mathematics was formed in 2015 by bringing together the departments of Agriculture, Applied Technology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geosciences, Mathematics, and Physics. The Sternberg Museum of Natural History and Kansas Wetlands Education Center are also units within the college. The college has 75 full-time faculty and about 2000 majors, including 55 graduate students. It also makes significant contributions to the university’s General Education program and to the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science, which is an early-college program for high-achieving high school students. Undergraduate students participate in technical, classroom, field, and lab experiences that many schools would reserve for graduate students. Our academic programs are innovative and our facilities are outstanding.
