Job Description

Serves as academic advisor to undergraduate students in the Department of Biomedical Engineering; advises current and prospective students concerning academic requirements, educational and career goals, and assists students with related academic issues; works under the supervision of the Director of Undergraduate Programs, assisting with necessary reporting, attendance at academic functions, and new student recruiting and advising conferences; performs related duties as required.  Also assists the Graduate Program Director with duties associated with graduate student application and processing. Coordinates tasks related to joint graduate and undergraduate activities. Manages student workers.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Serves as academic advisor to undergraduate students in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
  • Advises current and prospective students concerning academic requirements, educational and career goals, and assists student with related academic issues.
  • Works under the supervision of the Director of Undergraduate Programs, assisting with necessary reporting, attendance at academic functions, and new student recruiting and advising conferences.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Assists the Graduate Program Director with duties associated with graduate student application and processing.
  • Establishes documentation for departmental advising activities.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Four years of related experience in advising and recruiting.
