The Office of Graduate Student Services is seeking to hire an Academic Advisor III. The Academic Advisor III advises current Ed.S., Ed.D., Ph.D., and graduate certificate students on academic policy and requirements for degree completion. Disseminates information on university policies and procedures to graduate faculty advisors and graduate students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Maintains doctoral student records with non-course milestone markers (recommendation for doctoral candidacy, program of study w/doctoral committee members, comprehensive examination, prospectus announcement, dissertation announcement, dissertation defense announcement)
  • Creates and maintains doctoral flowchart and doctoral graduation checklist calendar each term
  • Processes directed reading applications for the college
  • Advises graduate student population on continuous enrollment, re-entry, and submits petitions to the Associate Dean 
  • Uploads dissertations to scholar works and assists with updating forms on college resource
  • Serves as the college's point of contact to help facilitate immunizations hold for new admits
  • Runs monthly doctorate reports and disseminate to graduate faculty on non-course milestones for doctorate tracking
  • Posts, interviews, and supervises the federal work-study student who will be training on front desk duties

Qualifications

: 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree in related field and has supervisory experience with student workers is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suites, banner 9, WordPress, Degree Works, Slate, Argos, and Iport, Scholar Works, EAB Navigate.
