Position Summary:
The Academic Advisor serves as the primary point of contact for students seeking academic and student services in the college. Academic Advisors assist students in developing an academic plan to achieve their personal and professional goals. The advisor evaluates their students' degree progress/eligibility, educating and providing guidance and direction regarding degree requirements, and available programs. Interprets College, University and Campus policies and procedures. Educates students on course registration process, selection and available College and University resources and opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in education, counseling, or a related field required.
- Two years of work experience in an academic setting required; in higher education Knowledge of university policies, available student resources, and matriculation procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using student applicant databases and course management systems.
- Experience in higher education in academic advising
