Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
Provides administrative support to the Associate Dean and office for Access, Belonging and Community Engagement (ABCE). Provides leadership in supporting, planning, and executing programs, activities, and resources for students in the College of Nursing focused on culture and community engagement, and student access and success and inclusive excellence.
Administrative-Support Related Responsibilities
Manages, prioritizes, and coordinates the AD-ABCE calendar to include preparation/provision of all information and materials for briefing the AD on meetings and events; attends meetings and events with the AD as assigned. Processes all travel authorizations for AD within five business days of receiving approval. Process conference registrations within deadlines for early bird registration as feasible. Process all expense reports within five business days of receiving receipts and other supporting documents. Provides administrative support for committees established by the ABCE office as well as special projects. Tasks related to support for committees include preparation of agendas, recording of minutes, and distribution of final minutes, maintaining confidentiality of highly sensitive documents; working with group members to develop agenda items and assuring follow up action items and timelines set in meetings. Prepare and maintain records and reports of ABCE activities (faculty, staff, and student activities) Ensure ABCE activities and initiatives are current and available on the CON website.
Student-Related Responsibilities in Collaboration with AD-ABCE and Academic Success Coordinator
Develop, implement, and evaluate inclusive excellence programs for students. Manage the Carolina Cares Cupboard, including quarterly reports of student utilization, services/support provided to students and inventory needs. Plan, establish, and evaluate an inclusive excellence student committee/advisory board, including its overall structure, membership, member engagement, and procedures. Support faculty, staff, and students to identify, implement, and evaluate opportunities for integrating inclusion initiatives in the CON community. Collaborate with USC Office of Multicultural Student Affairs. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Identify tutoring needs, plans monthly tutoring services meetings to provide ongoing training and development for student tutors; provides feedback for student tutors on their progress each semester. Tracks tutoring services (appointments and walk-in sessions) and develop meaning and conclusions for end-of-semester reporting. Provides support for workshop presentations and student outreach. Provides support at student orientation and other college events.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years in positions of responsibility requiring planning, organizing, and managing within complex organizations. Record of successful engagement with diverse students. This advocate must be able to effectively collaborate with other persons and offices at multiple levels or positions, such as within the College of Nursing, USC, and relevant external entities.

Master’s degree and 3 years in positions of responsibility requiring planning, organizing, and managing within complex organizations. Record of successful engagement with diverse students.
