The Department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami invites applications for a tenure-track or tenure eligible faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with expertise in the Digital Humanities and additional scholarly focus in either Medieval or Early Modern literature to begin August 15, 2024. Further interest in the pedagogical and research uses of emerging Artificial Intelligence technologies would also be welcome. The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s intellectual life by pursuing an active research agenda, teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, directing dissertations, and serving on departmental, college, and/or university committees.

We seek candidates with diverse scholarly interests whose teaching and research interests intersect with the work of other faculty in English and elsewhere in the College of Arts and Sciences. Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. in English or a related field in hand by time of appointment; a strong and active publishing agenda; a record of excellence in college-level teaching; and a commitment to leadership and innovation in the digital humanities. This scholar will be expected to complement existing initiatives in the digital humanities at the University of Miami, a member of the Florida Digital Humanities Consortium (http://FLDH.org ), and to collaborate with our Center for the Humanities and libraries on digital humanities projects.
