Job Description:

Assist in the maintenance of citrus and ornamental plants, insects, and other invertebrate pests and natural enemies under laboratory and greenhouse conditions for use in field and laboratory experimentation.

Collect and/or count carious species of insects, mites, and snails and their developmental stages in field and greenhouse settings, following research protocols designed by faculty and postdoctoral researchers or students. Monitor insect behavior and mortality in various field and laboratory experiments.

Collection, storage, and preparation of plant tissues for chemical analysis in laboratory. Assist Chemist III with extraction of various classes of insecticides from leaf tissues and nectar for quantification by LCMS.

Maintain overall hygiene of laboratory and assist with inventory of lab supplies and consumables.

Must be comfortable working around insecticides and in outdoor conditions.

30-40 hours per week. Heavy Lifting 45 pounds and over. Repeated Bending more than 2 hours a day.

Expected Salary:

$17.00 per Hour
