Job Description:

Review Tier 1 reconciliation process, including procurement card, purchasing, travel and payroll for IFAS departments. Process journal entries as needed. Conduct internal control process reviews, review of FARs, effort reporting, commitment tracking and other financial reporting needs in conjunction with the Finance Manager. Develop and update checklists to ensure that information is accurate. Create new resources or refine current and existing resources to IFAS-specific reporting requirements.

Maintain and update the UF/IFAS personnel database. Update cross college and prior year payroll distributions. Verify and request new combination codes, flex codes, and department ID’s. Process budget transfers requested by various IFAS units. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Process monthly Sales Tax report, including review and audit deposit entries, distribute and track cash receipt and deposit transmittal books. Monitor all financial activities within IFAS units such as negative balances for the Appropriation and Cash-Based ledgers, payroll exceptions and budget errors.

Work in collaboration with Finance Manager, Accountant III and Assistant Director of Finance with responsibilities related to fiscal matters, including, but not limited to, special projects, provide reports and information as needed for data analysis and impact. Attend workshops, meeting and trainings as recommended and/or required to keep up to date on work responsibilities. Update IFAS TEAMS Announcements and departmental website.

Commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate possess critical thinking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and TEAMS.

MyUFL and financial processes including pcard, travel, account reconciliations and monthly budget reporting preferred. Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to work in a team environment, self-motivated, and excellent communication skills.

Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to administrative functions.

Knowledge of the methods of data collection.

Ability to conduct fact finding research.
