Job Description

The Program Assistant, under general supervision, provides standard program support.

Responsibilities:

-Duties within this role will include, but not limited to management of:

  • District 7 4-H webpage

  • 4-H event registration system (4-H Connect)

  • 4-H Extension financial management account

  • 4-H Foundation financial management account

-Will, at times, include some work outside the normal 8:00-5:00 work day, including a few weekends.

-Possibility of some overnight travel involved.

-Position will work with planning committees to plan and facilitate these events.

-Assists in the coordination of assigned program.

-Assists with committee meetings and materials.

-Tracks and monitors program budget.

-Researches and recommends changes to existing programs.

-Assists with proposal development.

-Purchases program materials.

-Prepares program correspondence.

-Assists in coordinating logistics and travel for program seminars, workshops, orientations and other special events.

-Creates, establishes and maintains program files, databases, correspondence and program materials.

-Serves a first point of contact for program information and coordinates responses to requests for program information.

Minimum Requirements:


Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience – No experience required.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities - Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Verbal and written communication skills..
