Clinical Service Representative I

• Point of Service Operations -serves as a first-line liaison for internal and external customers, including guests, clients, faculty, staff, students, vendors and others. Communicates with customers in person, by telephone, email, fax or postal mail. Greets patients and confirms appointments. Inspects insurance cards or authorization notices. Identifies and collects deductibles, co-payments or deposits on services. Explains and satisfies any necessary patient signature requirements. Performs CSR duties at multiple clinic locations.
• Makes phone contacts to other departments, physicians, patients and other outside organizations as necessary for the departmental/practice operations.
• Maintains patient scheduling functions, and sets patient appointments through established guidelines.
• Interviews and completes the registration process for patients utilizing the specific service. Operates various office equipment and computer systems.
• Performs cashiering functions as it relates to- co-payments or other patient payments/collections. May perform clerical duties for the department - perform other general office and administrative duties, such as filing, receiving and sorting mail.
• Provides administrative support to providers and management staff and assists in organization of clinical service. Problem solves issues with registration, schedules, appointments, etc.

$15-$17.50 per hour depending on education and experience.

High school diploma or equivalent.

• Two to four years clerical/customer services experience preferred, ideally in a health care related industry serving HIV/AIDS population.
• One yar experience with third party payors and computer experience for imputing data and reviewing patient demographic material preferred.

This is a time-limited position.  Time limited positions are based on circumstances, such as funding sources, which control the length of time for which the position is available.
