Classification Title:

Job Description:

  • Coordinates the Rapid HIV CTL Program and STD screenings, including but not limited
    to education, consent, and administration of HIV testing/STD screening. Ensures follow
    up and linkage of HIV /STD positive individuals to appropriate care and services occurs
    in a timely manner.

  • Oversees the maintenance and use of the Mobile Unit for outreach and testing activities.
    This includes maintaining travel logs, regular vehicle inspection, ensuring supplies are
    stocked, and disposal/refill of water. Drives mobile unit as needed.

  • Fills in as needed to perform HIV Rapid Testing Procedure according to the training and
    guidelines set forth by the Florida Department of Health (DOH);

  • Manages all documentation, testing kits, control and testing site temperature logs, record
    keeping of DH 1628 data collection forms, testing logs and reactive testing log.

  • Submits all necessary reporting material to the Clinical Program Coordinator III which
    includes the yellow copies of the DH 1628 data collection forms for submission to DOH.

  • Ensures a monthly inventory report is maintained on needed supplies, expiration dates
    on testing kits and control; all testing forms; prevention materials such as hand outs and
    condoms.

  • Oversees HIV/AIDS testing program and testing staff, including training and counseling.
    Routinely conducts staff meetings to discuss operations, staff issues, schedule for
    outreach and testing; reviews new policies and procedures and shares general
    information.

  • Program contact for HIV/AIDS Awareness Days and coordinates and markets events
    acknowledging awareness days including health fairs and other venues.

  • Serves on agency and community committees to provide information on HIV & AIDS and
    STD prevention activities. Participates in the assessment of prevention and care needs.
    Provides advice on public health programs, policies and procedures to both the UF
    CARES program and community.
Expected Salary:

$45,600 to $59,262 annually depending on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years HIV/AIDS, STD and substance abuse prevention or service coordination experience with the target population preferred.
  • Certified HIV/AIDS tester.
