Job Description:

A postdoctoral research associate position is immediately available for highly ambitious, independent, and motivated candidates in the Department Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics at University of Florida. The position will require collaboration with other faculty, scientists, and health professionals in the Department and across the UF campus on the design, coordination, and implementation of informatics and data science research for federal and state funded projects.

The postdoctoral research associate is expected to work on research projects that:                                          (1) utilize real-word data (RWD), such as those in electronic health records (EHRs) and administrative claims;(2) integrate RWD with other data sources such as genomics and imaging for outcomes research;                  (3) develop and apply novel data science methods including machine-/deep-learning methods;                      (4) develop and apply novel causal inference, especially causal AI methods.

Expected Salary:

$50,000 - $55,000

Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. in related fields (computer science/engineering, biomedical informatics, information science, data science, (applied) mathematics, (bio)-statistics, or physics). Doctoral training in data science will be a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Research experience with EHRs and claims data is a plus.                                                                       

Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Have at least two first-author papers in highly recognized data science and informatics journals or conference proceedings.

Be extremely good at programming and have experience in data science.

Practical experience in data science, predictive modeling, deep learning, causal inference and causal AI will be a plus.

Be able to successfully interact with diverse stakeholders, including clinicians, basic scientists, and translational researchers.
