Job Description:

The University of Florida Veterinary Hospital is seeking for a qualified candidate to join our accounts receivable and medical records team.The Veterinary Hospital Accounts Receivable Representative provides support for the hospital with Accounts Receivable and Medical Records with an emphasis on Research accounts. This position is integral member and acts as a point person for communication with clients, referring veterinarians, and other areas of the hospital in regards to medical records and billing.
Examples of work include but not limited to:
• Review new research accounts to ensure all information is included
• Communicate with researchers or assigned contact person to finalizing bills and pay off balances.
• Create reports in regards to research accounts to display current spending and trends
• Process credit adjustments, administrative and teaching subsidies; ensure proper documentation is completed and spreadsheets are updated
• Review accounts receivable and add necessary late fees to accounts, send appropriate notices to clients regarding late accounts
• Process end of fiscal year tasks
• Track Accounts Receivable looking for trends
• Answer phone calls in regards to account receivable or questions regarding a client’s bill
• Coordinate with Client Service Representatives to ensure clients are contacted in a timely manner in regards to outstanding balances

Expected Salary:

$18-$20

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with accounts receivables and medical records
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literate
• Strong organizational skills
• Projects professional image and positive attitude
• Able to think critically and independently
• Able to demonstrate good problem-solving skills
• Able to multitask while handling frequent interruptions

This is a CARE position offering limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off.  When appropriate certifications are achieved, promotional opportunities to a level II title may be available. This position will also become eligible for transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan.
