Job Description:

50% Recruitment, Hiring & Onboarding

Supports the efficient and effective hiring of all College of Law employees, including full-time and adjunct faculty, full-time and part-time employees, and student employees. Enters job requisitions into the UF recruitment module. Informs hiring supervisors and/or search committees when requisitions have posted and maintains, updates, and closes all job requisitions when filled. Works directly with College leaders on the procedures for processing all new hires. Ensures the completion of required offer letters, hiring paperwork, payroll processing, and tax documentation. Enters appointments into PeopleSoft and verifies appointments are distributed to the correct account. Monitors active student employee appointments and ensures timely terminations when appropriate. Works with hiring managers and other College leaders and departments to provide a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience for all new employees.

25% Time & Leave

Monitors time and leave reports for accuracy and completion of recorded and approved hours. Assists employees with questions regarding payroll, time worked, leave taken, and time/leave requests and approvals. Collects required documentation and inputs leave of absence actions into PeopleSoft. Reviews the appropriate usage of leave and other benefits by employees. Works with College leaders to initiate off-boarding processes for separating employees.   

15% Classification & Compensation

Inputs all changes to employee classification and/or compensation into PeopleSoft. When approved, inputs requests for new positions and/or updates to current position descriptions. Inputs all resignation, retirement, termination, layoff, or non-renewal actions into PeopleSoft.

10% Other Duties

The College of Law is rapidly changing and evolving.  All staff members are expected to assist with other duties as needed, including duties throughout the entire law school campus.


Expected Salary:

$19.16 - $26.34 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

--Knowledge of and ability to interpret and provide information related to university, state, and federal HR        related regulations, policies, and laws.
--Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and restricted information.
--Exceptional organizational skills and attention to details.
--Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
--Ability to proactively analyze and solve problems. 
--Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
