East Stroudsburg University’s Department of Modern Languages, Philosophy & Religion is looking for adjunct instructors to teach languages and related courses, including linguistics and teaching methods. Languages include Lenape, Spanish, Mandarin, Latin, German, French, Arabic, Japanese, Portuguese, and others.
The department offers coursework leading to a Spanish major. In
addition, students can pursue two Spanish minors and a minor in Chinese
Language & Culture. These programs are communicatively based,
intercultural in focus, and include professionally-oriented course experiences.
Located
in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU’s proximity to New York
City and Philadelphia provides students with convenient access to internships,
careers and social activities. Just minutes from campus are the country’s
largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian
Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.
Qualifications
- A master’s degree in a relevant field is required; a doctorate is preferred.
- Must have significant teaching experience in a higher ed setting with a diverse student population.
