Job Description:

This position within the CFO’s Office is responsible for managing all accounting related activities, payroll, and daily fiscal operations for the University President’s Office and Direct Support Organizations (DSOs) of the University of Florida, including the Cattle Enhancement Board and University of Florida Historic St. Augustine. 

Specific duties include: 

  • Provides effective fiscal management and supports the budgeting process, including the analysis and review of financial information.
  • Prepares and posts accounting entries, reconciles financial transactions, and provides general fiscal support to the University President’s Office and assigned DSOs.
  • Designs, establishes, and maintains budget, expense, reconciliation, and managerial reports.
  • Analyzes and interprets financial information for planning and control purposes, ensuring the strategic allocation of resources. 
  • Coordinates annual audits and required sponsored project reporting with DSO contacts and collaborates with DSO staff to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial information.
  • Provides leadership for direct report(s), including effective performance management, identification of training needs and professional development plans.
Expected Salary:

$70,000 - $80,000 commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in college and university accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with University of Florida operations.
  • Ability to work and maintain effective working relationships with others; to understand, interpret, and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; to effectively communicate in writing and orally; to complete work according to scheduled deadlines; to work with limited supervision; to utilize problem solving techniques and to work independently.
