Job Description:

The Lastinger Center for Learning is currently seeking a highly motivated and responsible Student IT Assistant to join our IT support team. In this role, you will assist with various tasks related to end-user computing support and contribute to the efficient operation of our IT department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to prioritize tasks, and possesses strong communication and customer service skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop and mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals, as well as wireless computing and communication equipment.
  • Offer technical advice, guidance, and informal training to staff on hardware and software usage.
  • Collaborate within a team environment to address incoming calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries.
  • Provide Tier 1 support for basic software and hardware issues related to end-user computing.
  • Escalate issues to Tier 2 support when necessary.
  • Manage administrative tasks involving Email, Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Google Workspace for Education, and Dropbox for Business.
Expected Salary:

$15.00

Minimum Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled student eligible for on-campus employment through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) with a minimum 2.0 GPA.
  • Able to work part-time, up to 20 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with end-user computer support.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Comfortable with Windows, Mac OS, Linux environments.
  • CompTIA A+, Microsoft or related c ertifi cations.
  • Computer Science major or related degree program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to follow and maintain procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Capable of determining work priorities and ensuring timely task completion.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
