Job Description:

The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning’s mission is to improve the quality of teaching, learning, and childcare. Responsibilities:

Implementation and Facilitation

  • Contribute significantly to the development and management of a highly-trained “Assessor/Navigator
  • Community Experts”
  • Provide high- formative and substantive feedback with fidelity, as well as logistical and content
  • Support for micro- participants toward successful completion of their coursework.
  • Develop training resources and facilitation for assessors/navigators
  • Contribute to onboarding and training of new micro-credential assessors/navigators and ongoing training for current assessors/navigators
  •  Hold periodic check-ins with assessors/navigators, including regular office hours for informal support
  • Monitor submission turn-around time and work with management to respond to related issues Provide feedback and ongoing support to assessors/navigators

Research and Data Collection

  • Assess and monitor navigators’ submission rating fidelity, re-train as needed, and work with management to respond to related issues.
  • Use the reporting system on the learning management system effectively and coordinate with management and enrollment to ensure that assessors/navigators maintain full rosters of active participants.
  • Coordinate and manage processes, such as periodic participant progress monitoring; self and administrative withdrawals from the micro-credential; retakes; and remedial support for participants as needed.
  • Keep accurate records, including assessor/navigator rosters; roster changes; starting and ending dates for training, trial assessment periods, and full assessor/navigation roles; attendance at meetings and trainings; invoice records; navigator performance.

Collaboration

  • Contribute to building an “Assessor/Navigator Community of Experts”
  • Provide ongoing support to all navigators, including serving as a liaison between assessors/navigators, management, and tech support

To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.


Will travel for assigned business purposes moderately (1-2/mth)

Expected Salary:

$60,000 - $70,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Reading, Special Education, or related field
  • Should have Reading Endorsement
  • Experience in early learning language, and literacy or K-12 literacy teaching/professional development
  • Have experience in online learning environments
  • Have expertise in literacy instruction as an educator, coach, or facilitator
  • Have experience with Flamingo Early Learning course content, or Flamingo Literacy Matrix content & micro-credential content
  • Able to organize and track documents
  • Have reliable internet access
  • Able to collaborate with colleagues
  • Able to prioritize when faced with competing obligations
  • Have strong content knowledge in Science of Reading and/or the Science of Early Childhood instruction · Able to respond to changes in a flexible manner
  • Have knowledge of adult learning principles
  • Have skills and experience in coaching and/or mentoring
  • Have experience using Microsoft Teams, Google Drive, Excel and/or SmartSheet
