Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Serve as the administrative liaison for the New Worlds Reading Initiative.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for program activities.
  • Troubleshoot and address challenges as they arise; coordinate with other project staff providing implementation support to ensure consistency and effective communication structures.
  • Monitor edits to the New Worlds Reading website and program application form.
  • Support New Worlds Reading leadership as requested.
  • Ensure compliance with all University of Florida regulations and best practices in office systems, file maintenance, and record-keeping.
  • Ensure effective use of strategic tools and resources in line with the Lastinger Center mission and values.

Project Planning and Support

  • Responsible for managing book order and flyer order processes.
  • Coordinate book and flyer orders and manage the reconciliation processes.
  • Support the continuous development of best practices and tools for project execution and create reference documents.
  • Proactively manage and communicate ongoing changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Provide support with planning and hosting New Worlds Events
  • Explores, analyzes, and seeks resources for the resolution of issues that impede project progress.

Translation Support

  • Assist with the translation of New Worlds Reading resource materials.

Lastinger Center for Learning supports and promotes a healthy work-life balance. To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

Expected Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Biliterate in Spanish
  • Experience in project coordination and management
  • Experience and success working with diverse communities and/or low-income families.
  • Experience in management/coordination of multiple tasks and projects within a cohesive system
  • Strong relational, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience working directly in communities with local organizations/nonprofits
