UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional level Cloud Platform Systems Administrator interested in applying their technical expertise to fast-paced, customer-focused production support and development environments as part of the Infrastructure and Communication Technology Technology department, a unit within UFIT. These environments run in a LEED certified data center housing several thousand servers and petabytes of storage. Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees who are dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community. As part of the Infrastructure and Communication Technology (ICT) unit, you will lead medium to large-sized projects and direct teams responsible for maintenance, installation, configuration, and deployment of advanced hardware and software systems. You and your team will participate in managing UF Data Centers and delivering hosted server, storage, virtualization, database, email or related systems. These systems connect University of Florida campuses and research sites to the world via high-speed data, video, WI-FI, telecommunications, and VoIP services. This role provides opportunities to architect and design advanced system solutions, define enterprise standards, recommend new initiatives, and help UFIT align with industry trends. You’ll also collaborate with managers and technical peers and serve as a vital mentor to junior colleagues. Benefits Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year. Vacation-accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31, when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis. Expected Salary: |
$108,000 – $118,000; commensurate based on education and experience. |
Minimum Requirements: |
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and ten years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience but does not negate the minimum degree requirement(s). |
