Job Description:

The Associate Director - IT will be responsible for supporting the telecommunications needs of the University. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing a team of data, voice, and video engineering team with a specific emphasis on network resiliency, reliability, and security.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking and telecommunication in a large-scale environment
  • Advanced level knowledge of the wired, wireless, wide area, and optical networks
  • Ability to manage large teams and budgets in a progressive service delivery environment

Expected Salary:

$135,000 – $150,000; commensurate based on education and experience. 

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and five years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and seven years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Extensive experience in network/telecommunication infrastructure design, architecture, review, strategy, and service delivery
  • Five to Seven years of experience managing multiple, large, complex cross-organization projects and teams
  • Extensive experience planning, budgeting, and managing multi-million dollar networking and telecommunication services.

This role will be based in one of our Gainesville offices and may include a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office (Wednesday required), and 2 days remote.
