Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an entry-level Graphic Designer to join UFIT Web Services, a unit within UFIT.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees who are dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Designs and implements user-driven prototypes and/or digital designs, for print or web meet accessibility guidelines
  • Ability to design visually appealing elements utilizing tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, or Figma
  • Strong customer service skills and self-motivation is a must

Benefits

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation-accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31, when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary: $35,500 - $40,000 commensurate based on education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Associates degree in Graphic Design or a comparable degree
  • Skilled in using design tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge base for digital design on the web 
  • Customer service skills (required)
  • Ability to communicate, and enforce digital  and coding standards
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to details (required)

This role will be based in one of our Gainesville offices and may include a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office (Wednesday required), and 2 days remote.
