Applications are invited for a 1-year postdoctoral research fellowship in the department of Psychology at Wesleyan University that is renewable for a 2nd year. We seek a highly motivated researcher with an interest in examining marginalized group experiences, specifically Black and Latine experiences. This research includes topics related to immigration, sociopolitical development, collective memory, and intergroup relations. We seek an interdisciplinary researcher with interest in conducting research with adolescents, young adult, and adult populations. The post-doctoral fellow will work with Dr. Andrea Negrete and Dr. Michael Perez. Responsibilities will include publishing manuscripts using existing data and designing and collecting data for future research. The ideal candidate will have experience in quantitative research. Experience in qualitative research methods or mixed methods research (i.e., studies integrating quantitative and qualitative data analysis) or a willingness to learn these methods will be an asset. The candidate is expected to teach one undergraduate seminar (in their area of expertise) per semester and will have the opportunity to co-supervise highly motivated undergraduate research assistants. The successful candidate will receive training and supervision in developing an independent program of research within the area of marginalized group experiences and social justice. Wesleyan University is a highly selective liberal arts institution, where faculty are actively engaged in research. Wesleyan also offers teaching training through the Office of Faculty Development.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in psychology or a related field.
  • Experience in using any of the following programs: SPSS, R, and/or MPlus.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, time management, oral/written/communication skills, and a commitment to diversity.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong statistical analytical skills as evidenced by published work using survey-based research and experimental methodology
  • Strong research ability as evidenced by first-author publications
