The University of Worcester welcomes thousands of students to study a diverse range of courses each year. The University operates across two main campuses in St John’s and the City, with a number of other sites including the University of Worcester Arena and Lakeside Campus.

We are now welcoming applications for work experience opportunities across the University, with potential opportunities in:

•    IT and Computing; helping our staff to use technology and keeping our systems working

•    Administrative roles; supporting our lecturers and others with essential processes

•    Technical support; working in labs or workshops supporting staff and students in health- related areas such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy,  science, sports, psychology and the arts

•    Marketing and communications; helping to ensure that we attract new students to the University

•    Finance, accounting and purchasing; managing the University’s assets and spending

•    Human Resources; supporting the University’s people, and helping to recruit new staff

•    Gardens and grounds; maintaining the excellent appearance of our green spaces

•    The Hive Library; helping students and members of the public find information

If you would like to apply for a work experience opportunity with the University, please click Apply Online and complete the application form.

We particularly welcome applications from people with protected characteristics that are under-represented in our workforce. For example, we would welcome applications from women in science and IT roles, from men in administrative roles and HR, and from disabled people and Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) people across all our roles.

Once we receive your application it will be reviewed, and we will contact you if and when a suitable work experience opportunity becomes available. We will invite you to meet the team offering the opportunity, and confirm arrangements for the placement, as well as agree any other support or training needs as may be necessary. If you have already registered an interest in work experience at the University on a previous occasion, please do not reapply as your records will be retained should an opportunity become available.

If you would like more information or to discuss any of our placement opportunities, please email [email protected] . This advert will close at the end of the calendar month but please do not worry if you are unable to submit your details in time as a new advert will be placed each month to ensure year-round work experience opportunities.

NB: Please be aware that this work will be voluntary, and as a result will be unpaid, but will provide valuable insight into a variety of areas.
