As a Research Assistant on the University of Wolverhampton’s Women in Leadership research project you will be working with a cross-university research team. The purpose of the project is to determine levels of gender diversity in business leadership in the Midlands region and to provide recommendations for practice. The project will look into women on boards and women-owned businesses in the Midlands region, taking into account intra-regional variations, the national context and firm-specific characteristics.
Under the supervision of the PI, you will undertake desk research, secondary data collection, quantitative data analysis using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and contribute to the writing-up of the results. You will also participate in writing a report, an article, and blogs.
You must have at least an honours degree in business, management or a closely related subject or discipline. You will conduct research to tight deadlines, interpret research data and write results. You will be expected to work in a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and academics and work very closely with senior level external stakeholders. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is a commitment to research excellence and equal opportunities. You will need to have the ability to work independently and pro-actively.
The position is based in the University of Wolverhampton Business School, Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences at the University of Wolverhampton, in the UK.
