Visitor Team Coordinator

Updated: almost 2 years ago
Location: Manchester, ENGLAND
Deadline: 12 May 2022

We are looking for a friendly and experienced Visitor Team Coordinator to join Manchester Museum at an important moment in our history…

The museum is currently closed to the public while we undergo a huge £15million transformation project. Our mission is to build a more sustainable world and better understanding between cultures, and we are driven by our values to be inclusive, imaginative, and caring. You will play a big part in supporting the development of an exceptional Visitor team in time for our exciting reopening in February 2023.

Once the museum has reopened, the visitor team will interact with lots of different people from Manchester and beyond, hear their stories, and tell our own. You will provide a welcoming space for people to learn and be inspired, share our values, and help us to achieve our mission.

Even if you haven’t worked within the Museum sector, if you have experience leading a team or group to deliver an exceptional visitor service, have a working knowledge of social media and have impeccable administration skills we want to hear from you.

This is a full-time operational role with key holder responsibilities; therefore, it requires someone who is flexible to work any five days Monday to Sunday, mornings, evenings, bank holidays and university closure days.

Until February 2023, this role will mainly be Monday to Friday, though may include weekend working as operational needs require. Starting February 2023 this role will have a repeating set rota of any 5 days between Monday – Sunday.

Interviews shall be commencing from the 19th of May 2022.

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.  All appointments are made on merit.
